Chandigarh, April 13, 2020: A Drukair special flight with 108 passengers onboard, mostly students from Bhutan, departed Chandigarh for Paro (Bhutan) today.
The evacuation plan was operationalized as per the standard operating procedures and by taking all necessary precautions for handling passengers. The flight took off from the Chandigarh Airport at 1351 hours. The flight arrived from Bhutan at 1205 hours.
Air India, CISF, IAF, Immigration authorities and Punjab police provided required support for smooth operation of flight.
Chandigarh International Airport has taken all the measures for safe operations following social distancing norms, sanitization of building including special care of touch points and is ready to handle if the flight operations resume in near future.
