Farmer take out rally in Cincinnati USA to Support Kisan Struggle
Ohio (USA), December 13, 2020 :
A rally in support of India’s farmers’ struggle was held by Punjabis living in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. The event was attended by hundreds of participants, who gathered at the Cincinnati Gurudwara at noon. Then they took a procession from the Gurdwara to the square at Union Center in Westchester.
The march was led by farmers on a Ford tractor. People on the road were expressing their support by honking horns. At the square, Pawan Kumar facilitated the agenda. Multiple speakers addressed the audience, clarifying the issues, and bringing to light the obstacles farmers had to overcome trying to reach Delhi. People were made aware of the agitation’s peaceful and organized nature despite it being the largest ever such a protest in the world.
Many non-Indian American youngsters joined the rally. “We are here to support the community who is so accepting. I know the three laws that have been passed against the farmers, and it’s terrible how the farmers are being treated,” said Joey, one of the youngster. Payton, a young girl, shared similar sentiments. She also understood the issues and joined the rally to show solidarity with the community.
“The news getting to the communities outside of our own, shows the Indian Farmers’ struggle is becoming globalized,” commented Jagpal Singh Grewal. Manmohan Singh, who attended the Rally with his entire family nodded in unison, “It’s the largest human agitation in the history of the world,” he added, “it has to be globalized.”
