Hunger Strike at Delhi by farmers over rollback of –Farm Laws
KMSC presented show of strength at district headquarter, submits memorandum to DC
Ferozepur, December 14, 2020: In response to farmers’ call for a hunger strike at Delhi and the farmers under the banner of Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee-KMSC, at the back end also protested at the district headquarters and submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioners, today presented a show of strength by protesting against the controversial 3-Farm Laws.
Later, a deputation of farmers presented a memorandum to ADC, Rajdeep Kaur in the name of Prime Minister, Narender Modi, highlighting their demands – withdrawal of 3-Farm Laws, Electricity Law, cancel the proposed amendments in Land Acquisition Act 2013, contract system, implementation of Dr.Swaminathan report in toto, waiving of entire loans of farmers, cancellation of amendment of Common Land Act 1964 of Panchayats, implementation of 14 agreed demands of farmers and payment of pending sugarcane payments and lastly withdrawal of all police cases, under the influence of Covid-19 pandemic, during the course of peaceful agitation by the farmers for their genuine demands.
Speaking on the occasion, Sukhwant Singh Lohuka, spokesman of KMSC said, none of the ministers of the BJP government are having the agricultural background and in such a situation, as to how they can understand the ground zero problems of the farmers. The farmers are protesting but the Modi government is adamant to accept our demands, which is not favourable for the country.
He said, all entry points to Delhi have been blocked by the protesting farmers and agitation in Punjab is also going on. Our agitation will continue till the demands are not accepted by the Modi government.
