Kisan Morcha demands Delhi Police to remove barricades from protest sites
New Delhi, April 25, 2021: The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) has demanded Delhi Police to remove barricade from the farmers’ protest sites at Delhi borders. The farmer union claimed that the protesting farmers have already opened one side of the road
“Delhi Police's barricade has not yet been removed. Samyukta Kisan Morcha has made a formal request through an email that the road should be opened so that oxygen, ambulance and other essential services can run smoothly,” stated SKM.
Amid the alarming rise of the COVID cases in national capital, the vaccination camps have been set up for the Tikri border.
“Masks and other essential items were distributed today at the Singhu border. Farmers are utilizing these services and taking proper care of their health,” shared the union.
The farmer organization also question Uttar Pradesh’s government statement on oxygen availability.
“Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister is reported to have said that there is no shortage of oxygen and action will be taken against those who spread such information. This is a very questionable and objectionable statement. When the government has de-stabilized the system and machinery through privatization and citizens are dying on the streets and in/near hospitals, the government's attempt to suppress the voice of the people in holding up the reality is condemned,” the union noted.
On Sunday, the farmers movement against the farm laws completed 150 days.
The union said that “Morally and Ethically, farmers are victorious. They will go back home only after repeal of 3 laws and after MSP’s legally guaranteed.”
