Railways take all measures to prevent second wave of Covid-19
Ferozepur, May 1, 2021: All extensive measures have been taken by the railways in Ferozepur division to facilitate smooth and safe running of trains as well as to prevent the second wave of Covid-19 epidemic, said Ferozepur Division, DRM Rajesh Aggarwal.
He said, Isolation Ward has also been set up in Division Rail Hospital at Ferozepur with the provision of 25 beds along with a facility of oxygen. Routine RTPCR tests for Covid infections are being carried out besides constant sanitization of all railway premises.
The facility of Covid-19 vaccination to the railway staff working day and night for the smooth running of trains has also been made available in all the hospitals of the division from March 23. Abound ten thousand frontline and more than 45 years old staffs are working in the division, out of which 3,000 have been vaccinated, he said. However, all RPF staff posted in the division has been given the Covid-19 vaccine.
Chief Medical Superintendent, Dr. Usha Kiran informed on the first day of this campaign, 540 frontline and people above 45 years of age were vaccinated. Vaccination of people above 18 years of age will be done after the state government gives the outline.
