Chandigarh admn asks centre to increase medical oxygen quota
Chandigarh, May 6, 2021:
Chandigarh Administration asked the central government to increase their quota of medical oxygen from 20 MT to 35 MT. UT Adviser Manoj Parida said, “Our allotted quota is 20MT of oxygen, we have asked to enhance quota to 35 MT.”
Meanwhile, the adviser also appealed the NGOs, working to set-up mini COVID care centres, to provide oxygen concentrators with each bed. He said, “NGOs setting up mini COVID care centres should provide oxygen concentrators with each bed, so that demand is less on our allotted oxygen quota, which we provide to government hospitals."
The administration also appealed that any person wishing to donate or sell oxygen concentrators, preferably of 10 litre capacity, can contact Saurav Arora, Joint Commissioner, on 9501602021.
