Chandigarh, December 21, 2021: Former Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh slammed killing of the accused in sacrilege incident inside Golden Temple. He termed it illegal and absolutely unacceptable.
Capt Amarinder made the statement while addressing the media at Rajpura here.
"I condemn the sacrilege incident in Golden Temple but what happened after that is also condemnable. There is law in this land. Taking the person at the SGPC office for interrogation and later killing him, what sort of system is that? This is illegal and absolutely unacceptable " said Capt.
He said that a similar incident took place in Kapurthala. "This is a law and order problem.
Capt Amarinder said that from the video of Golden Temple, it seemed like the man was mentally unstable.
On the FIR against the SAD leader Bikram Majithia, Capt Amarinder said a wrong case had been registered.
"I know this case very well. The sealed cover reports on the drug menace case have still not been opened. On what basis they have registered an FIR? Is there any law in the country or not. Without any evidence, the system is registering a case. It is against the constitution as well as the law," said Capt Amarinder.
On former Congress Cabinet minister Gurmit Rana Sodhi joining BJP today, Captain Amarinder said that whether the former joins BJP or his party, it's the same.
Gurmit Rana Sodhi is known to be Captain Amarinder's loyalist.
