Chandigarh, January 6, 2022:
The breach of security of the Prime Minister on Wednesday in Punjab was not a lapse but a conspiracy which was hatched by the Congress party. Ashwani Sharma, state President of BJP, stated this on Thursday at the party headquarters here.
Asking for immediate dismissal of the Director General Police and the Home Minister, Sharma said “Punjab is a border state and Ferozepur is a short distance from Pakistan. The Director General of Police had given clearance to the Prime Minister's convoy to travel on the route. It is the duty of the state to provide a safe route and all protocols were dumped while putting the Prime Minister in an extremely sensitive and fragile security situation anything could have happened on that Bridge”.
He said that it is the congress which had brutally murdered innocent Punjabi’s in 1984 and created havoc. The history of this party is replete with ruining, wrecking and destroying the social fabric of the state. “BJP will never let its nefarious designs succeed and the Congress state President better refrain from making derogatory comments as the Punjabis will give the congress a befitting reply. The zest and mood of the Punjabi can be gauged from the fact that in-spite of extreme hurdles, harassment and inclement weather they travelled from all over Punjab to reach Ferozepur,” said Ashwani Sharma.
Sharma dubbed the congress as responsible for creating an atmosphere which was “worse than emergency” and regretted that a colossal loss to the psyche of Punjabi’s has been inflicted by the Channi Government. “Lakhs of people were denied their right to listen to their leader Narendra Modi. It was a murder of democracy as hurdles were created and all roads leading to Ferozepur were barricaded so that buses ferrying people from the state all over were stranded. Women were harassed at various points and the state police acted in cahoots with the congress state government,” rued Sharma.
The Press conference was attended by Dr Subhash Sharma, Mr Jeevan Gupta, Mr Rajesh Bagha, State general secretaries, Mr Som Prakash Union State Minister , Mr Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi, Mr Fateh Jung Bajwa both MLA’s and a galaxy of other leaders.
