ARO conducts surprise checks of polling booths to evaluate arrangements
Ferozepur, May 8, 2024: Following the issuance of the Lok Sabha election notification for the upcoming polling slated for June 1st in the 7th phase of Punjab, preparations in Guruharsahai constituency have surged into high gear. Assistant Returning Officer, Gagandeep Singh orchestrated an unanticipated visit to various polling booths to evaluate the arrangements.
In line with prior directives, Singh ensured that provisions such as shaded seating, clean water facilities, accessible toilets, and adequate sanitation measures were in place at each booth, alongside strict adherence to the Model Code of Conduct (MCC). However, discrepancies were noted, prompting swift action from appointed Zonal Officers, who sternly reprimanded Sector Officers to rectify deficiencies promptly.
Under Singh's directive, all sector and zonal officers were tasked with reporting immediately to ensure minimum facilities were provided at the booth level.
This impromptu visit not only underscores the commitment of election officials towards ensuring fair and efficient elections but also highlights the meticulous planning underway to guarantee a seamless voting experience for Guruharshai constituency constituents.
Present during the inspection were key officials from the SDM Office, including Office Superintendent Keval Krishna, Election Cell Incharge Deepak Sharma, and Sector Officer Pradeep Singh, among others.
