Chandigarh, January 19: Former IPS and popular Social activist Kiran Bedi’s advocacy for BJP and Narendra Modi has sparked off new whispering in political lobbies that she is likely to get BJP party ticket from Amritsar Lok Sabha constituency replacing Navjot Singh Sidhu, who is incumbent BJP MP from the holy city. Recent Political development and Sidhu’s open defiance against his own party indicates that Sidhu is not at all a favourite candidate for party’s strong holders and over the top, it is also speculated that Sidhu himself has no longer any interest in having BJP ticket for upcoming Lok Sabha Polls. He seems to be aspirant for the his Rajya Sabha nomination now. Besides, the top SAD leadership also has a desire to replace the Amritsar seat with BJP for either Ludhiana or Patiala. Sukhbir’s frequent visits to holy city along with Harsimrat Badal and personal monitoring of all the projects of Amritsar also lead the speculations in the same direction . No doubt that BJP leader and Sidhu’s rival GS Cheena along with one or two other leaders also seek BJP’s ticket but top leadership does not consider them so strong in replacing Sidhu. BJP also does not wnt to loose the prominent seat and that’s why name of Arun Jaitley was also speculated. After Kiran Bedi’s joining of BJP and open advocacy of Modi for as PM, her name as Amritsar LS candidate was natural. There are two big reasons for it. One is that Kiran Bedi herself is a native of Amritsar and her husband also resides in Amritsar. Though Kiran Bedi these days resides in Delhi but she owns a home in Amritsar also. Second reason is that she is a popular Punjabi figure not only in India but also globally. A senior BJP leader in Press conference confessed that the name of Kiran Bedi can be considered. What SAD-BJP leadership will decide is another matter but one thing is sure that she can proved to be a strong candidate for SAD-BJP alliance. She is not confined by groupism in BJP, She is a mighty spokesperson, Lead face of Anna’s anti-corruption campaign, A strong lady and having administrative experience as well. There can be no hesitation in BJP for Kiran Bedi’s nomination. Her only advantage can be proven disadvantage for politicians and that is her self-dignity, her stubbornness in prevailing her own thoughts. State leaders also may think that Kiran Bedi may also be leading in her own way rather than following the senior’s orders only. Over the top, BJP deprives of lady leaders in Punjab. If Kiran Bedi gets BJP LS ticket from Amritsar , then it can proved to be a matter of concern for Cong leaders So far, Cong MLA OP Soni is most likely to be Cong candidate for Amritsar in Lok Sabha Polls. Meanwhile, Raj Babbar is also speculated to be in the fray. Butneither Raj Babbar, nor the Party high command has indicated anything in this regard.
