Bathinda, April 14 : Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal today said Peoples Party of Punjab (PPP) chief Manpreet Singh Badal would lose the forthcoming parliamentary election from this constituency with the largest margin in the State and would be followed in this dubious roll of honour by Punjab Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa and Congress Amritsar candidate Captain Amarinder Singh. Addressing a public meeting here, Mr Badal said he was making an open statement that the PPP chief would be the biggest loser in Punjab because the latter had been thoroughly exposed before the people. \"Manpreet was able to fool the people of the State for a short period by making vows in the names of the martyrs but now his deeds are before the people to access and evaluate\". Stating that credibility was everything in politics and that a person shorn of credibility had nothing to fall back upon, the SAD president said the manner in which the PPP chief had jumped into the Congress band wagon after promising never to ally with the party had damaged his credibility beyond repair. \"People are asking him openly whether he had rebelled against the SAD to join the Congress. The very fact that Manpreet formed his own party on the eve of the last assembly elections to harm the prospects of the SAD indicate that joining the Congress was all along in his game plan. Now Taksali Congressmen are eager to teach him a lesson \", he added. The SAD president said opportunists sometimes fall into a trap of their own making. \"Manpreet realised that his PPP had become weak and that is why he chose to join hands with the Congress and contest the election on the hand symbol\". Mr Badal said this however had resulted in the virtual liquidation of the PPP as a party and a revolt against Manpreet\'s candidature in the Congress. \"This means he is now getting support from neither the PPP nor the Congress. This is why he will lose the forthcoming election by the biggest margin in Punjab\", the SAD President added. Speaking about Punjab Congress chief Partap Singh Bajwa and Congress Amritsar candidate Capt Amarinder Singh, he said both leaders would self destruct each other\'s campaign. \"Both leaders are more interested in the defeat of each other rather than in their own victory\". He said this attitude had disheartened the Congress rank and file which was now turning to the SAD-BJP.
