Chandigarh January 2: The final publication of the photo electoral roll has taken place today across the state. The rolls are also available on the net. The projected population of the State is 27981217 and the total electors in the State are 17433767 as on 01.01.2012. An increase of 721025 over last years\'s electorate and an increase of 543061 over the draft published on 04.10.2011. The gender ratio of the State as per census is 893 whereas the roll shows a gender ratio of 897. The projected population for 2012 is 27981217, and the age –cohort 18-19 is projected at 1090234 which comes to approx. 3.90% of the population. The present roll has 343427 voters in this age group which is 1.82% of the population and about 33% of this particular age – cohort viz 18-19. Tarn Taran district has the best representation of this age group at 2.26%. The elector population ratio should be 676 but is 624 in actual fact which means that 1473053 persons who are eligible to enroll have not done so as yet. 92.21% of the eligible population stands registered as voters. The district of Nawan Shahr has done the best work in enrolment having covered 99% of the eligible population. Out of 1,74,33,767 voters, 1,73,75,216 voters have their photographs in the roll. Only 0.33% viz 58557 photos are not there. 1,73,90,153 EPICs have been generated in all, some of these are still under distribution. Only 0.25% of the voters do not have epics viz 43614. The district of Kapurthala & Mansa have 100% PER & EPICs coverage as have the constituencies of Kartarpur, Anandpur Sahib, Bassi Pathana, Amloh, Sahnewal, Sanour and Samana. In the following constituencies less than 10 persons each are without EPICs - Sujanpur, Gurdaspur, Banga, Nawanshahr, Balachaur, Chamkar Sahib, Fatehgarh Sahib, Khanna, Atam Nagar, Bagha Purana, Fazilka, Gidderbaha, Muktsar, Bhadaur, Mehal Kalan, Rajpura, and Shatrana. There are 19724 Main Polling Stations at 12960 Polling Locations. The increase in voters has necessitated the creation of 110 auxiliary polling stations. 47 NRI voters and 197 Other voters.
