Chandigarh, July 23, 2016:
The newly inducted members of the Haryana Council of ministers were allotted portfolios by the Haryana governor Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki on Saturday.
With the induction of three new ministers, Manohar Lal Khattar, Haryana CM will now head 14- member Council of Ministers having eight Cabinet Ministers and five Ministers of State.
The newly inducted Mr Manish Kumar Grover will hold independent charge of Cooperation and Printing and Stationery. His other portfolio is Urban Local Bodies and he has been attached with Urban Local Bodies Minister.
Mr Krishan Kumar will hold the independent charge of Social Justice and Empowerment and Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes. Mr Karan Dev Kamboj will hold independent charge of Food and Supplies and has also been given the portfolio of Forests. He has also been attached with Forests Minister.
Dr Banwari Lal will hold independent charge of Public Health Engineering and has also been given the portfolio of Renewable Energy for which he would be attached with the Chief Minister. Mr Nayab Singh will hold the independent charge of Labour and Employment and would be attached with Mines and Geology Minister.
The Chief Minister will hold the portfolios of Home; Power; Town and Country Planning and Urban Estates; Irrigation and Water Resources; General Administration; Administration of Justice; Electronics and Information Technology; Personnel and Training; Raj Bhawan Affairs; Renewable Energy and any department not specifically allotted to any Minister.
Mr Ram Bilas Sharma will hold the portfolios of Education; Technical Education, Tourism; Elections; Parliamentary Affairs, Archeology and Museums and Hospitality.
Capt. Abhimanyu will hold the portfolios of Finance; Revenue and Disaster Management ;Excise and Taxation; Planning; Law and Legislature, Institutional Finance and Credit Control; Consolidation and Rehabilitation.
The portfolios assigned to Mr Om Prakash Dhankar are Agriculture and Farmers Welfare; Development and Panchayats; Mines and Geology; Animal Husbandry and Dairying and Fisheries.The portfolios of Mr Anil Vij are Health; Medical Education and Research; AYUSH; Science and Technology; Sports and Youth Affairs and Archives. Mr Narbir Singh will hold the portfolios of Public Works (B&R), Forests, Architecture and Civil Aviation.
Mrs Kavita Jain will hold Urban Local Bodies; Women and Child Development; Information, Public Relations and Languages; Art and Cultural Affairs. Mr Krishan Lal Pawar’s portfolios include Transport; Housing and Jails.
The new Cabinet Minister, Mr Vipul Goel, will be the new Industries and Commerce Minister and also hold the portfolios of Environment and Industrial Training.
