Sumeet Jarngal told Babushahi.com that Shergill had reached late night with the orders of the High Court. He said, the papers of Shergill have been found in order and he is in the list of candidates now .
Earlier, Shergill had contested the assembly election from Mohali in 2017. But due to an alleged delay in submitting details of his election expenses to the EC, he was disqualified him from contesting any elections from June 7, 2018 to June 7, 2021.
In the meantime, Shergill had filed an appeal against the disqualification with the EC on March 29 this year. The appeal, however, was dismissed on April 30 following which Shergill moved the HC, arguing that the order was passed by the EC against the laid down rules. HC had given relief to Shergill an directed the EC to accept his nominaiton.
