Health department begins throat sampling of all 30 Tablighi Jamaat activists

Fatehgarh Sahib, April, 3, 2020: The district health department has started taking the throat samples of all the 30 Tablighi Jamaat activists, who attended the Nizzamudin event in Delhi and have been home quarantined in the district.
Dr. N.K.Aggarwal Civil Surgeon said that Principal Secretary Health has ordered to take the samples of all the Tablighi Jaamaat activists in the State. He said that the department has started the process and samples are been taken. He said all these 30 Tablighi Jaamaat activists are home quarantined in Sirhind, Mandi Gobindgarh, Khamano and Bassi Pathana towns of the district. He said they all are though asymptomatic, but the government does not want to take the chance. He said they are under constant surveillance of the health department.
He said that there is no COVID patient in the district. 768 NRIs who came to the district have been identified and traced. He said that 601 of them have crossed the limit of 14 days home quarantine, whereas 167 NRIs are still home quarantine, whereas 341 have been pasted with stickers. He said that 16 COVID suspect were tested and all of them were found negative.
