The politics in Punjab has become complicated with no final words from Navjot Singh Sidhu, Crickter-turned-Comedian and Politician, after resignation from Rajya Sabha, as to which party he is joining. In the political circles, Sidhu has made everyone guessing as to whether he will join Aam Aadmi Party or not or keep himself away from politics and concentrate on TV shows to live a non-controversial life.
There are number of more questions come up, like – Whether Sidhu will be pursued to continue in BJP? Whether Sidhu will be projected as CM candidate? Or above all, Is it a big conspiracy among the BJP to confuse the Congress, Akalis and AAP parties? The last one looks to be sound as BJP is not in good terms with the sworn alliance party SAD as is evident from the recent Vijay Sampla’s reaction over ignoring him at Punjab BJP president Vijay Sampla lashed out at the SAD for the “shoddy” treatment meted out to him and Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu during the inauguration of Bhagat Namdev Ji College in Gurdaspur’s Ghuman village.
No doubt, silence is a great art o conversation with himself but Sidhu’s silence has made others to talk much on him. However, one thing is certain, after resigning and not showing his cards, he is definitely looking forward a better berth in AAP or Congress.
So far as Congress is concerned, he is not likely to get any major position as there are number of leaders senior to him.Rgarding AAP, Arvind Kejriwal, has already made it clear that presently there is no move to project Sidhu as CM candidate in Punjab. He (AK) himself could be candidate for CM in Punjab as he is not comfortable in Delhi because of interference of Lt.Gov. who has all the final powers. While in Delhi, it looks that he is heading the Corporation office.
Well before the resignation of Sidhu, the rumour was only about his joining the AAP and this is the reason, he was vocal against the SAD moves. The ultimate target of BJP is to out Congress from the politics at any cost and Sidhu couple has already announced that they will not participate in any activity of BJP in case BJP continues to keep its alliance with the SAD. Even AAP has been labeled as having linkc with RSS and he hardly speaks against RSS. Not only this, AAP is being called as the “B” team of BJP. Or, it can be said, BJP is itself wants to make AAP as the strong opposition to outs Congress.
Politics is a game of poly-tricks and no one knows the next move. Till such time, there is a word from Sidhu, there would unquestionably be uncertainty.
Frankly speaking, going through all these factors, the entry of Sidhu in AAP will be big challenge of AAP leaders in Punjab including Sucha Singh Chotepur, Bhagwant Mann andHarinvder Singh Phoolka who had unsuccessfully contested 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Ludhiana. So, keep on guessing till the final election dates are announced and flying leaders settle themselves in one or the other ‘political nests’ to put an end to all speculations. I would say, “Let Sidhu speaks himself – AAP”.
