Congress to focus on youth, once voted to power in 2024: Mohit Mohindra

Sangrur, March 18, 2024: The Indian National Congress will bring an employment revolution in the country by creating employment opportunities and job security once voted to power in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. More focus would be on the youth by making them partners in every sphere and creating more jobs for them.
Giving details about the “YUVA NYAY” program launched by Rahul Gandhi in Rajasthan, Mohit Mohindra President of Punjab Youth Congress, while speaking at a youth convention in Longowal, (Sangrur) today said that in “BHARTI BHAROSA” Congress guarantees to create 30 lacs jobs in central Govt. departments while already 10 lac sanctioned posts are lying vacant.
"Congress (PEHLI NAUKRI PAKKI) guarantees a new right apprenticeship act to provide one-year apprenticeship with private or public sector company to every diploma holder or college graduate below the age of 25. Apprentices will get one lac per year approx. 8500 per month. Apprenticeship has to be made demand driven right for which every qualifying person should be placed. No one will be forcing the companies, it is already in the act of 1961. We are just scaling it from 8 lac to 50 lac apprenticeships which will facilitate skills, employability and above all dignity for the youth," Mohit Mohindra said.
Pointing towards the new law to ensure the highest standard of integrity and fairness in the conduct of public examinations, Mohit said that this law would prevent paper leaks from destroying the future of crores of youth. There have been 41 paper leaks over the last five years in the recruitment exams across 15 states which ruined the ambitions of 1.4 crore applicants.
Mohit further said that Congress started “YUVA ROSHNI” in which we will create 5000 crore corpus, with allotments spread across all districts of the country for a period of five years. Youth below the age of 40 years can avail of start up funding for their business enterprises in any sector.
The Congress party will bring in legislation to ensure better working conditions and social security for lakhs and lakhs of youth who seek employment every year in the gig economy. Gig workers earn less than the normal workers and their income fell between 2019 and 2022. Congress passed the Rajasthan platform-based Gig Workers Act in 2023.
