Ferozepur, April 15: The Congress has already admitted its defeat well before the start of election process by not declaring its candidate for the post of Prime Minister, said Parkash Singh Badal, Chief Minister on his visit to Ferozepur while addressing the rally organized in support of Sher Singh Ghubaya, Akali-BJP alliance candidate for 10-Ferozepur Lok Sabha constituency.
Sukhpal Singh Nannu, former CPS, who had been in controversy over the strained relations with Sher Singh Ghubaya and Kamal Sharma, Punjab BJP President, which was later on patched up with the intervention of senior party leaders, openly said in the presence of Parkash Singh Badal Chief Minister that there is no room at my place for the disloyal or turn coaters to the party.
Joginder Singh Jidhu, MLA Ferozepur Rural assured to the Chief Minister to give a maximum lead of 25,000 votes from the rural areas.
Ravinder Singh Babbal, former Congress MLA and recently inducted in the Akali Dal said the martyrs have sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country and we have to sacrifice by casting vote in favour of alliance candidates of BJP-Akali in Punjab as there is a need to change the government at the centre.
Rather Babbal in a threatening tone said that only those workers, only those will survive to get the key posts whose performance will be best in the Lok Sabha elections.
Sher Singh Ghuybaya, candidate for Lok Sabha elections appealed to the Akali and BJP workers to support him by creating a history on April 30. Country is passing through crisis on account of unemployment, inflation and its solution is only in these elections.
Giving a reference to Atal Bihari Vajpayee under whose tenure as PM after the emergency, there has been over-all development in the country. There is a need to change the government at the Center to be headed by Narendera Modi.
Admitted certain difference within the party, Ghubaya said, forgetting all this, we should decide the fate of the country in these elections.
Speaking on this Kamal Sharma, Punjab BJP said, the mammoth gathering has created a confidence in Parkash Singh Badal about the support to the Akali-BJP alliance.
Saying in a satire style, he recited a couplet – Nakam Chor Dekho Namak, Kafan Chor Dekho Kafan Bechte Hain, Jinhe Rehnuma Banaya Tha Apna, Wo Delhi Mein Bethe Watan Bechte Hain. Kamal Sharma said, even if we search on Google on internet about the most corrupt government in the world, the name of Congress in India comes on the top. Lashing out at the Balram Jakhar, Kamal Sharma said in his high tone that after being Speaker of the House, he could not do much for the area and faces the people. He later on shifted to Sikar in Rajasthan. Sunil Jakhar Congress candidate for Lok Sabha elections was defeated in 1996. Time has come when your each vote casted will be a direct vote to support Modi candidate for the post of PM.
Earlier, Parkash Singh Badal conveying his pleasures to see the Akali-BJP workers said, we all are here for an important work related to the future of the country and to take decision as to who will be the Prime Minister of India.
He further said, the Congress has already admitted its defeat by not declaring the candidate for the post of Prime Minister so that the people could make up their mind. When NDA has announced Modi, why can’t UPA ?
Recalling the post-emergency election when Indira Gandhi was defeated, Badal said, the history will be repeated as the results will be like the same. He said, Punjab has been discriminated on all fronts and it is the time to decide your own luck and Modi is the only candidate who can take care of the country.
On this occasion, Jugraj Singh Katora, District President, Jaspal Singh Jimmy Sandhu, BJP Yuva Morcha President, Gurjit Singh Cheema, Arminder Singh Pothi Sheena, Kanwaljit Singh Dholewala and in good number of Akali and BJP workers were present.

New Delhi, April 15: Taking note of growing incidents of corrupt practices in sports with its deep links to the underworld and to transnational organised crime networks, the CBI has dedicated one of its Units to function as a Sports Integrity Unit under the aegis of Special Crime Branch at Delhi. This was announced by Director, CBI, Shri Ranjit Sinha today at the 15th D.P.Kohli Memorial Lecture which is held annually in memory of its founder Director.
Addressing the gathering, CBI Director said that the stated objectives of this Sports Integrity Unit includes investigating and enquiring into matters related to sport frauds, combating malpractices in sports and coordination with sports federations and law enforcement agencies.

While seeking cooperation from all stakeholders in making this initiative a success, CBI Director said that the agency would be actively engaging with Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports so that a law dealing with corruption in sports is put in place at the earliest.

With the setting up of the Sports Integrity Unit, India would join the very few nations in the world to have a dedicated set up as a part of its federal investigative agency to investigate sporting frauds.

Shri Gopalkrishna Gandhi, the scholar-Statesman, who delivered the D.P.Kohli Memorial Lecture on the subject “Eclipse at Noon: Shadows over India’s Conscience”, reflected on matters pertaining to the state of public ethics and accountability. He also spoke of the need to have a delicate balance between autonomy and accountability on the part of the premier investigative agency.

Reminiscing on the year long Golden Jubilee Celebrations, CBI Director said that this year not only gave us opportunities to celebrate our past but also to ruminate in the present for better future. Retrospection of over 50 years of variegated experience and trenchant analysis of the object lessons of the institution helped us identify areas that require reprioritization, reorientation and reengineering of process to stay committed to the guiding values and philosophy of CBI in order to achieve excellence in the domain of investigation.

On this occasion, Shri Chatter Singh, Constable, Anti Corruption Branch of CBI, Dehradun was honoured with the D.P.Kohli Best Detective Constable for the year 2013.

Bathinda, April 15 : Bathinda MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal today invited former legislator and Congress leader Sukhpal Khaira to give her half of the Rs 10,000 crore he claimed she was worth and take all the "benaami" property he alleged was owned by her.
In a statement here, Mrs Badal said the Congress leader seemed to have lost all equilibrium and that was the reason why he was now resorting to absurd charges without giving any proof of the same. "I however do not blame him. Khaira has always tried to over reach himself. After being ignored by the Congress he tried to join the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Now he is allowing himself to be used by Manpreet Badal and has made these allegations to divert attention from the serious allegations levelled against him by former Congressman Anil Bhola.
Mrs Badal said instead of trying to point fingers at others Khaira should explain to the people of Punjab as to how he acquired a palatial house in Chandigarh besides huge properties in Chandigarh and other major cities in Punjab and also in Kapurthala district. "Everyone knows Mr Khaira's father was a Deputy Superintendent of Police and that Sukhpal Khaira has never worked in his life. How has be managed to acquire the huge amount of land and properties owned by him now. How has he acquired the fleet of cars which are parked at his residences in Chandigarh and Kapurthala."
The mp said unlike Khaira who was a hypocrite who lived the life of a feudal but claimed to be fighting the feudals, she did not believe in hypocrisy. "I own property worth Rs 108 crore and have mentioned as such in my affidavit to the Election Commission. In case Khaira feels I have 'benaami' property worth Rs 10,000 crore, he is free to identify the same, take over possession of the said property and give me Rs 5,000 crore".
Mrs Badal asserted "This however will not happen. Khaira is known to make noises for the media consumption only. Instead of making baseless, absurd and crude charges Khaira should have come up with a list of properties and proved how I owned them".
Speaking about the allegations made against few people working under her and akali election incharges in various constituencies, Mrs Badal said it did not behove the former MLA to speak about the humble origins of a man to question the responsibility given to him by the SAD. "These are men who have earned their bread and butter through the sweat of their brow. You who have never earned an honest man's wage for a single day in your life should be the last person to question anyone why he has risen from a humble station in life".

Mrs Badal also said in case Khaira felt that people working under her or the SAD president had acquired 'benaami' property of epic proportions as claimed by him he was free to exchange his property with them. "The people of Punjab would like to know the worth of your official as well as benaami property also since your father was from a very humble origin and people find it bewildering as to how you have acquired a property fit for a king along with a princely style even though you do not belong to a royal family".

Mr. David Lelliot, British Deputy High Commissioner in Northwest India was the Chief Guest on this occasion. Conveying British Prime Minister David Cameron's Best Wishes on the occasion of Vaisakhi, he said that Vaisakhi is a chance to celebrate the immense contribution Sikhs and Punjabi make to British life. "Vaisakhi gives us a chance to celebrate that immense contribution and to share the success stories of British Sikhs: Of people like Tom Singh, who expended a single clothes shop into a chain of 1,000 New Look stores around the world. Like
Paul Uppal , the self-made businessman, who is the only Sikh MP serving in the House of Commons. Like Ravi Singh, from the Charity Khalsa Aid, who rallied the community during the recent flooding to help with the clean-up, and Like the remarkable marathon runner Fauja Singh- the 'turbaned tornado' – who, at over 100, is still running and still inspiring millions," said the British Prime Minister David Cameron.

Fatehgarh Churian/Gurdaspur, April 15: The Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President, Partap Singh Bajwa, today called upon his opponent from the Akali Dal supported Bharatiya Janata Party Vinod Khanna to explain his stand on the Sikh farmers settled in Kutch area of Gujarat who were facing eviction threat.

Bajwa alongwith S.Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa MLA Fatehgarh Churian toured Hardo Jhande, Dhadiala Natt, Saar Chur and Kala Afgana villages of Fatehgarh Churian Assembly Segment and he said the Gujarat Chief Minister and NDA’s prime ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi, had failed to come to the rescue of these beleaguers farmers who turned these waste lands into green lands through hard labour during the last about 50 years.

He said what was all the more reprehensible was that these farmers had won their case in the Gujarat High Court but the Modi government went into appeal to the Supreme Court against this order. The issue was the withdrawal of special leave petition filed by the Gujarat government from the apex court but Modi had maintained an intriguing silence on this basic point.

The PPCC chief said this action of the Gujarat government reinforced the perception of Modi being anti-minority. Earlier, he had the image of being anti-Muslim but the case of these Sikh farmers was unquestionable evidence that he was against all the minorities in the country.

“It was the Punjab Chief Minister, Parkash Singh Badal, who was amongst the first leaders to hail Mr. Modi as the future of India. The Akali Dal has been claiming to be the representative of the Sikhs. However, Badal has no specific answer as to why the leader being hailed by him has failed to come to the rescue of these farmers. Khanna is the BJP candidate supported by the Akali dal and as such, he must make his stand clear on the withdrawal of the SLP by the Gujarat government from the Supreme Court. You cannot mislead people all the time”, he said.

Bajwa recalled that it was Badal who had unashamedly bestowed the title of Sardar-e-Azam on Modi without getting any assurance from him on the withdrawal of this petition. “ Mr. Badal has always been dictated by the personal and the family interests rather than the interests of Punjab, Punjabis and the Sikhs. In this very case, he has adopted the policy to appease the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate for very personal reason in case the NDA comes to power. What Badal sees is mirage as the ambition of Mr. Modi would never materialise, thereby leaving Badal in the lurch as he wants cabinet berth for his daughter-in-law Mrs. Harsimrat Kaur Badal. There are two ifs, one if is associated with the future of the NDA and the other to that of his daughter-in-law”, he added.

He said Badal was under the illusion of a Modi wave sweeping across Punjab whereas the situation was to the contrary with tsunami of anti-incumbency against his government gaining strength every day which would demolish the edifice of his repressive, corrupt and anti-people government.

Others present were Balwinder Singh Bhalwali President BCC Fatehgarh Churian, Balwinder Singh Bhullar, President BCC Batala, Tarpal Singh Parowal, Onkar Singh Lati, Hardyal Singh Parowal, Buta Singh Ghoga, Lakhwinder Aliwal, S. Samitar Singh Ex-Sarpanch, S. Hardeep Singh, S. Masa Singh, Malkit Singh. Narinder Singh, Bhupinder Singh, Harvail Singh, Paramjit Singh, Gurdip Singh Tangewal, Gurwinder Singh BSF, Baljinder Singh, Kuldeep Singh Jaithu, Lakhwinder Singh Pardhan, Dilbag Singh, Santokh Singh Pardhan, Sohan Singh, Bhinder Singh Bhinda, Simarjit Singh, Jugraj Singh.....

The rampant violation of human rights of irregular migrants in transit and destination countries is a cause of concern and requires action on part of transit and destination countries. Two pronged strategy of ‘awareness generation’ and ‘skill development’ needs to be pursued in an organized manner on a continuous basis with active participation of non-state actors. Raikot/Amargarh, April 15: Shiromani Akali Dal President and Deputy Chief Minister Punjab Sukhbir Singh Badal today said that Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi is a ‘Candy Kid’ who sees toffees, candies and chocolates in everything. Badal was commenting on the Rahul Gandhi’s statement of describing Gujrat Model as Toffee model.
Replying to media queries while campaigning for Kulwant Singh SAD-BJP candidate from Fatehgarh Sahib constituency, Badal said that Rahul Gandhi was still behaving like a child dreaming of sweets and toffees whereas Congress has did its best to present him as a youth icon for ten crore youths of the country, who have crossed the age of eighteen years and were casting their votes for the first time.
Describing Gujrat Model as a role economic model for every developing country of the world, Badal quipped that only an inexperienced leader of a party which has become synonymous with inflation and massive corruption could use such childish comments for development model of Gujarat.
Addressing the massive gatherings at Raikot and Amargarh, Badal said that Congress has nothing to claim on the development front and this was the reason its leadership was trying to divert the development agenda with negative politics. “Congress known for its three characteristics inflation, massive corruption and inefficiency, has put the country into the vicious circle of poverty, thus, it needs to be thrown out of this country in these Lok Sabha polls,” he added.
Describing NDA government as the only option to put Punjab and the nation on the path of rapid development, Badal appealed the voters to vote for NDA to affirm that this Government has to go democratically. He said that the common man suffered a lot by voting UPA into power for consecutive two terms. “The decade long rule of UPA was very troublesome for common people. This government, which has downgraded the country, has to go. Let us work for a progressive NDA government”, he added.
Lauding the achievements of Kulwant Singh, Shiromani Akali Dal president said that Kulwant Singh achieved heights through his dedication and honest style of working. He said that Shiromani Akali Dal chosen Kulwant Singh keeping in view his honesty, commitment and approach to all the sections of society. He expressed hope that SAD-BJP alliance would register victory at Fatehgarh Sahib Constituency with a margin of more than 20000 votes from all 9 vidhan sabha constituencies.
Adresssing the rally at Amargarh, Sukdev Singh Dhindsa said that NDA government during its rule kept the level of inflation under control besides boosting the economic growth. He said that it was also matter of record that only SAD-BJP governments brought pro people policies, whereas, Congress used its powers to loot the national resources.
Sukdev singh Libra, former Congress MP from Fatehgarh Sahib also addressed all the rallies in favour of SAD-BJP candidate. He said that he had joined Congress only to save the government of a Sikh Prime Minister but later he witnesses that Dr. Manmohan Singh were being used as ruber stamp by congress leadership. He said that Congress has a very strong anti sikh and anti Punjab lobby that did not allowed Dr. Singh to take any decision in favour of Punjab. “This was the reason of my homecoming to Shiromani Akali Dal. Latest disclosures put stamp on my words and now it is time for all of us to completely reject this party to ensure development of Punjab.
On these occasions, Kulwant Singh thanked the party leadership for giving him a chance to go to the people he wanted to work for and promised that once elected as MP he would turn every stone for the overall development of the area. He also thanked the people attending the rallies for making these rallies a grand success.

New Delhi, April 15: In a landmark judgement, the Supreme Court on Monday recognised transgenders or eunuchs as third category of gender and directed Centre and states to grant them all facilities including voters ID, passport and driving licence.
The Centre and States were also directed to take steps for bringing the community into the mainstream by providing adequate healthcare, education and employment.
A bench of Justices K S Radhakrishnan and A K Sikri directed the government to take steps for granting recognition to transgenders as a separate third category of gender after male and female.
The bench also said they are the citizens of the country and have equal rights to education, healthcare and employment opportunities like other people belonging to male and female gender.
The apex court expressed concern over transgenders being harasssed and discriminated in the society and passed a slew of directions for their social welfare. The apex court said that trangenders were respected earlier in the society but situation has changed and they now face discrimination and harassment.

It said that section 377 of IPC is being misused by police and other authorities against them and their social and economic condition is far from satisfactory.

The bench clarified that its verdict pertains only to eunuchs and not other sections of society like gay, lesbian and bisexuals who are also considered under the umbrella term 'transgender'.

The bench said they are part and parcel of the society and the government must take steps to bring them in the main stream of society.

The apex court passed the order on a PIL filed by National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) urging the court to give separate identity to transgenders by recognising them as third category of gender.

Welcoming the Supreme Court decision, Lakshmi Narayan Tripathi, transgender rights activist said, "the progress of the country is dependent upon human rights of the people and we are very happy with the judgement as the Supreme court has given us those rights."

respected sir, i was on your neighbor seat yesterday instead of 6 Ps, m also agree with yor point of advertisement and pornography which pollute young minds. but i also want to share you that in each and every article related to women issues the first line is "women is half of the world population" but only .5 to 1 per cent of glamour dolls pretend to show the image of women and people are ready to accept. it is the issue of deterioration of dignity of women in the society. there is a ad on whisky in which by each and every sip of whisly the top of women started disappear and the slogan is "kujh bhi ho skta hai" . similarly movies like grand masti which passed by censor are also create danger in the society related to cultural and value terams. there is need to finish gender gap in the society,. boys and girls look each other as alliens as they do not understand opposite sex and so they attracted. from the begining in the school, there create rows of boys and girls seprately. if we do not understand opposite sex we will not respect them, there is need to reduce this .
