Jassi Murder : Punjab police team on way to Canada to get custody accused
Chandigarh, September 17 , 2017 : A Punjab police team is on the way to Canada to get the custody of Malkiat Kaur and her brother Surjit Singh Badesha from Royal Canadian Mounted Police.DGP Punjab Suresh Arora told babushahi.com that the team will do its duty according the extradition agreement.
The team led by Superintendent of Police (Headquarter), Patiala, Kanwardeep Kaur will bring back both to India for trial in the honour killing of Jaswinder Kaur Sidhu @ Jassi Sidhu murdered in 2000 in Sangrur ditstrict.
Other members of the police team include Deputy Superintendent of Police, Akashdeep and Inspector Davinder Singh.
Both are to be extradited to India after the Supreme court of Canada dismissed their appeal against the deportation decided by RCMP.
Malkiat Kaur is the mother of Jassi and Surjit Singh Badesha is her uncle( Mama).
Both will be tried in the sessions court Sangrur. The police is expected to return by Tuesday.
