CGC Jhanjeri organizes seminar on International Day against drug abuse
Students take Pledge Against Drug Abuse

Mohali, June 26, 2023: Chandigarh Group of Colleges Jhanjeri campus conducted an awareness seminar to sensitize the students about the dangers of drug abuse at its campus on International day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking. Executive Director Dr. Neeraj Sharma was keynote speaker at the moment.
Dr. Neeraj Sharma informed at the moment that drug addiction cause mental and physical condition worse and explained the emotional, social and physical factors which lead to drug addiction.
He also stressed upon the importance of friends and family members in helping the victims.
He informed how to stay away from the clutches of drugs .During this session he also advised professors to keep an eye on the students and prevent them from becoming a slave of drugs.
The event was organized by the Department of Student Welfare in collaboration with the NCC and NSS wing of the campus, witnessed the participation of 240 students.
The students fervently vowed to abstain from drugs, assist in rehabilitating those struggling with addiction, and contribute towards making India a drug-free nation.
The students took a collective pledge to refrain from using narcotic substances and actively support the government's initiatives to eradicate the drug menace.
CGC President Rachpal Singh Dhaliwal while encouraging the students said that such sessions are very important for the young generation because Sometimes youth get into the vicious cycle of drug abuse due to ignorance and it therefore, becomes imperative to educate them about the ill effects of drug abuse.
He also discussed the role of society, family and friends in assisting the victim in to fight against drugs.
CGC Jhanjeri M D Arsh Dhaliwal advised students to stay away from drugs and achieve their targets in life and further urged them to be part of social awakening on drug abuse.
