Vet Varsity organizes awareness program on World Heart Day

Ludhiana, September 28, 2024: The Directorate of Human Resource Management Centre in collaboration with the Department of Livestock Production Management, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary, and Animal Sciences University organized an expert lecture of Dr. Ankit Gulia, DM Cardiology Hero Heart DMC, Ludhiana on the eve of World Heart Day Celebration regarding awareness about heart health and Mission Swasth Kawach. The program was attended by faculty, staff, and students.
Dr. L.D. Singla, the Organizing Chairman of the program informed the participants about the importance of regular health check-ups as detecting heart issues early can lead to better treatment.
Dr. Rohit Tandon discussed that World Heart Day is celebrated on September 29th each year and there is a need to create awareness about the importance of heart health as many heart diseases are preventable or manageable through lifestyle changes.
Dr. Ankit Gulia informed about the causes, symptoms and line of treatment regarding heart diseases and asked participants to make healthy choices such as a balanced diet, regular physical activity, no smoking, and alcohol consumption as these changes can significantly reduce the risk of heart disease.
Dr. Yashpal Singh Organizing Secretary deliberated on the theme of World Heart Day 2024 as "Use Heart for Action".The Programme was coordinated by Drs. Paramjit Kaur, Suresh Kumar and Venus Bansal.
Dr. Jatinder Paul Singh Gill, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. H.S. Banga, Registrar and Dr. Sarvpreet Singh Ghuman, Dean, College of Veterinary Science, appreciated the efforts of the organizers to spread awareness in the society about heart health.
