PAU gears up to hold Youth Festival, VC releases rule book

Ludhiana, October 25, 2024: Keeping the momentum alive during the ongoing festival season and raising the high spirits for the upcoming youth festival, the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) held a book release ceremony today, for the successful and smooth conduct of the 10-day youth fest at agri-varsity, scheduled to be held from November 11-21.
Releasing the latest version of the book which was second in series, Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU, commended the all-out efforts put in by the team of the Directorate of Students’ Welfare in compilation of the book. Maintaining accuracy, authenticity, credibility, lucidity and regularity were must to earn recognition as well as win trust and confidence of the participants, he observed.
Despite being agriculture research and extension-based university, PAU has made sustainable efforts in enabling the youths to unleash their hidden talent and gems in line-up cultural events at the state as well as the national level by laying a special focus on academics, he stated.
This book would go a long way in efficient, disciplined and unperturbed conduct of the PAU youth festival, he said.
The editor and designer of the book Satvir Singh, Registering Officer, while sharing the details, informed that the book presented a meticulous description of all the essential rules to be followed by the five constituent colleges of PAU in addition to the outstation institutes of the University.
Dr Nirmal Jaura, Director Students’ Welfare, while delivering his welcome remarks, lauded Mr Satvir Singh for burning midnight oil for bringing out this rule book.
Preparations were in full swing for conducting youth festival that provided a platform to the students to nurture their inner creative abilities, channel their energies in the right direction, and inculcate brotherhood as well as camaraderie among team members, he observed.
Dr (Mrs) Rupinder Kaur, Associate Director (Culture), proposed a vote of thanks, while Dr Vishal Bector, President of University Dance, Drama and Music Committee (UDDMC), conducted the event.
Present on the occasion were deans of the PAU colleges and Presidents of DDMCs comprising Dr Kamaldeep Singh Sangha of College of Agriculture; Dr Karanbir Singh Gill of College of Horticulture and Forestry; Dr Gurnaz Gill of College of Agricultural Engineering; and Dr Suman Kumari of College of Basic Sciences.
