SCD Govt. College Ludhiana Alumna Balroop Singh gifts 12 precious literature books to her Alma Mater's Alumni Authors book shelves

Chandigarh, November 29, 2024: Alumni Authors’ Book Shelves in the library of SCD Government College, Ludhiana got yet another luminous addition of enriching literary books when one of its illustrious Alumna Mrs. Balroop Singh gifted her 12 precious literature books to her Alma Mater.
An educator, a poet and an author she always had a passion for writing. The world of her imagination has a queer connection with realism. Her journey started when she published her first poetry book: ‘Sublime Shadows of Life.’
Besides this, today, she placed in her college library enriching books: Hues Of Hopes, Magical Whispers, Timeless Echoes, Fusion, Moments We Love, Sublime Shadows Of Life, Slivers-Chiseled Poetry, Just One Goodbye (All Poetry) and 2 books of essays: Allow Yourself To Be A Better Person and Optional Truth of Relationship. She did her post graduation in English Literature from this college in the session 1974-66.
All the way from the USA where her books have been published, Balroop came to visit her Alma Mater after around 50 years after learning about the college's effort in establishing the Alumni Authors Books section.
She was accompanied by her classmate Dalbir Singh Mauli and Brij Bhushan Goyal, the Organizing Sec Of Alumni Association. All the alumni were duly received by college teachers Amita Thaman (HOD English Department), Prof. Iradeep, and Prof.Geetanjli Pabreja who made the visiting alumna feel nostalgic about good old times. Balroop especially sat on benches of her old classroom.
Principal Mrs. Suman Lata in her message thanked Mrs. Balroop for her magnanimity in visiting her college to give her precious books.Brij Bhushan Goyal said , “Balroop writes about people, emotions and relationships with cues from Mother Nature which is her inspiration.”
He informed that with these of her books Alumni Authored Books have now swelled to 245 and more are coming as and when we are intercepting Alma Mater’s Alumni authors globally.”
Prof P K Sharma also an Alumnus is elated and he says, “Library Hall is honored by the literary hard work of Mrs. Balroop”. Other alumni who congratulated her include Principal Manjit Singh Sandhu, Mrs. Rashmi Verma, Mrs. Sarita Tiwari, Amarjit Singh Sandhu, Prof Ashok Kapoor, K B Singh, Baldev Singh and Mrs. Harinder Brar IAS (retd.) besides many others.
