FAP National Awards 2024: 475 Educators and Students from private schools honored; View Pics
FAP Honors 167 in Folk Dance, 203 in folk Singing, 45 in Painting & 60 for Collage Making

Chandigarh, December 7, 2024: To honor the invaluable contribution made by private schools in promoting Indian folk arts, dance, music, literature and culture of India, the Federation of Private Schools and Associations of Punjab (FAP) felicitated 475 music and dance teachers, cultural program assistants, principals and students of private schools with the 4th FAP National Awards 2024 held at Chandigarh University campus.
Besides FAP President Jagjit Singh Dhuri, Punjabi actor Yograj Singh, popular actress in the Punjabi film industry Sunita Dhir and Punjabi folk singer Gurkirpal Surapuri attended the award ceremony as chief guests. On the occasion, participants from different states performed folk dances, folk songs, kavishri and vaar singing to showcase the cultural prowess of private schools across India.
Of the 475 FAP awards given to teachers, students and principals of private schools in eight categories for excellent performance in Indian folk dance and cultural activities, 60 were given for collage making, 142 for group dance (Indian folk), 72 for Indian folk song (group), 49 for Indian folk song (solo), 45 for painting and sketching, 25 for solo dance (Indian folk), 42 for kavishri and vaar singing, 40 for wedding folk songs. The awardees included 213 students, 59 for music and dance teachers, 144 for cultural programme assistants and 59 for principals of private schools.
The aim of FAP awards is to encourage and recognize the exceptional contribution of top teachers in private schools of the country, who have significantly enhanced the quality of school education and uplifted the standard of living of their students in education, sports, dance, music and extra-curricular activities.
In his address, Jagjit Singh Dhuri, President, the Federation of Private Schools and Associations of Punjab (FAP), said, “The objective of FAP Awards is not only to recognize the achievements of private schools but also to inspire their infrastructure and facilities in education, sports and culture. The 475 music and dance teachers, cultural programme assistants, principals and students of private schools who have been conferred with FAP National Awards 2024 have been selected for excellence in folk arts based on an evaluation by experienced academicians. The contribution of private schools is the basis of quality education and the progress of the country. The culture, heritage, folk songs and literature of different cultures reflect the principle of unity in India. Through today's programme, participants from different states got an opportunity to showcase their culture, heritage, folk colors and literature. This programme not only showcased cultural diversity but also strongly highlighted the Indian principle of unity in diversity,".
On the significance of the FAP National Awards 2024, FAP President Jagjit Singh Dhuri said currently more than six thousand members are associated with the Association.
“We started FAP in 2021 and at that time only state awards were given to private school teachers in Punjab. After this, in 2022, the scope of FAP Awards was expanded and it was started at the national level. At that time teachers from more than 20 states participated in it. The primary goal of the FAP National Awards is to foster a sense of pride in private schools for their achievements in academics, sports, dance, music and culture. This initiative not only honors private schools that have reached the pinnacle of success but also inspires others to strive for excellence in academics, sports, cultural heritage, infrastructure, and facilities," he added.
