Educational and cultural journey to Amritsar inspired VWS students
Ferozepur, December, 8, 2024: To promote holistic development and instill cultural awareness, Vivekananda World School organized an enriching educational and cultural tour to Amritsar for students from grades 6 to 12. The initiative offered a unique opportunity for students to delve into the historical and cultural heritage of Punjab.
The journey commenced with Principal Tajinder Pal Kaur flagging off the buses in the early morning. The first stop was the revered Baba Deep Singh Ji Gurdwara, where students learned about the profound sacrifices of the legendary Sikh warrior Baba Deep Singh Ji. They paid their respects at the Gurdwara Sahib, participated in the community Langar, and gained valuable lessons on selfless service.
Next, the students immersed themselves in the vibrant culture of Punjab at Sadda Pind, a heritage village. Here, they enjoyed traditional Punjabi folk music and dance, explored rural life, and relished authentic delicacies, providing a tangible connection to the state’s rich traditions.
The day concluded at Sartaj Haveli, where the serene ambiance and delectable cuisine offered moments of relaxation and reflection. Students and teachers engaged in heartfelt conversations, exchanging experiences and creating cherished memories.
School Director Dr. S. N. Rudra highlighted the significance of such experiences, emphasizing their role in broadening students’ horizons and fostering an appreciation for cultural diversity. This thoughtfully curated tour left an indelible mark on the students, proving instrumental in their academic and personal growth.
