Punjab Govt sends meritorious 55 students on Educational Tour, MLA Bhullar flags off bus
Ferozepur, February 5, 2025: In a significant initiative to enhance practical learning experiences, Punjab Government, in collaboration with the State Educational Research and Training Council, has organized Educational Tour-2025 for Class 11 science stream students from government schools across the district.
Under the leadership of District Education Officer (Senior Secondary) Munila Arora, the tour was flagged off by Ferozepur City MLA Ranbir Singh Bhullar from the School of Eminence. Deputy District Education Officer (Senior Secondary) Dr. Satinder Singh was also present on the occasion.
Speaking at the event, MLA Bhullar highlighted the importance of experiential learning, stating that education should not be confined to textbooks alone. "This tour will take students to premier scientific institutions in Delhi and Jaipur, where they will gain hands-on exposure to the world of science and research. Practical experiences like these leave a lasting impact on young minds and foster curiosity and innovation," he said.
He further emphasized that the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is committed to the holistic development of students in government schools. "We are working tirelessly to elevate the standard of education in Punjab’s schools to an international level and ensure that students receive the best learning opportunities," he added.
Providing more details, District Education Officer Munila Arora and Deputy DEO Dr. Satinder Singh stated that the tour, running from February 4 to February 10, includes 55 meritorious students from 11 educational blocks of the district, with five top-performing students from each block selected. The entire cost of the tour is being borne by the Punjab Government.
Accompanying the students on this educational journey are senior faculty members, including Lecturers Lalit Kumar, Rajni Jagga, Manoj Kumar, Mahinder Singh, and Rajni Bala, who will help guide and mentor them throughout the trip.
The flag-off ceremony was attended by several educationists and school principals, including Principal Anukul Panchi, Principal Rajesh Mehra, Raj Bahadur Singh, Himanshu Thakkar, Ishwar Das, Sukhdev Singh, Ravi Inder Singh, and Sarabjit Bhavra.
This initiative reflects the Punjab Government’s commitment to fostering scientific temperament among students and ensuring they receive quality education that extends beyond the classroom.
