Bathinda Court frames charges against Kangana Ranaut in defamation case
Next hearing on December 4
Bathinda (Punjab),November 25, 2025: A court in Bathinda has formally framed charges against actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut in a defamation case, allowing the trial to move forward. However, the court has not yet decided on Kangana’s application seeking exemption from personal appearance. The matter will now be heard on December 4, 2025.
The case stems from the controversy that erupted during the farmers’ protest, when Kangana allegedly made objectionable remarks about women farmers. An elderly woman from Bahadurgarh Jandian village in Bathinda district filed the complaint, claiming that Kangana’s comments damaged her reputation.
On October 27, 2025, Kangana had appeared personally before the court in connection with the matter. With charges now officially framed, the judicial proceedings will continue as per schedule.
