Blind Murder and Snatching Case: Complainant turns out be father's murderer; held

Sri Muktsar Sahib, September 8, 2024: Under the supervision of Sh. Tushar Gupta IPS SSP SMS, Sri Muktsar Sahib Police has successfully traced Marar Kalan blind Murder-cum-snatching case with the arrest of a complainant son, who turned out to be a father's murderer.The accused has been identified as Piarjeet Singh S/o deceased Lakhvir Singh, a resident of Bajaj Marar.
In his complaint on September 6, Piarjeet Singh stated that on 06/09/2024 at around 5:00 am, he and His father Lakhvir Singh were going in a car to Chandigarh.
When they reached near village Marar Kalan to Khara link road, suddenly they were stopped by 4-5 motorcycle riders, who killed his father Lakhvir Singh with sharp weapon and ran away from the spot.
In this regard, FIR No. 63 dated 06/09/2024 U/s 103(1), 304, 62, 324(3), 191(3), 190 BNS, 25,27-54-59 Arms Act PS Bariwala was registered on the statement of Piarjeet Singh S/o Lakhvir Singh (deceased) R/o Bajaj Marar.
SSP Tushar Gupta, while addressing the press conference said that taking prompt action, Police after a meticulous investigation and using the human intelligence as well as technical resources has successfully cracked the case.
During the investigation, it revealed that Piarjeet Singh himself murdered his father with a knife & later he vandalised the car to make it seem like a snatching incident, he said.
He said that accused Piarjeet Singh has been arrested and during the preliminary interrogation, he confessed that he murdered his father as he had lost Rs 25 lac in gambling and he lied to his father, therefore in fear of its secret being revealed, he murdered his father. Further investigation is being conducted in depth, he added.
