Distt Admin honours 8 border-area students selected as Agniveers
Ferozepur, November 27, 2025: In a proud moment for the border region, eight students of Government Senior Secondary School, Gatti Rajo Ke (Ferozepur), have cleared the written and physical tests of the Indian Army’s Agniveer recruitment for 2025, earning their place in the Indian Army.
School in-charge Tajinder Singh shared that these students had also been regularly participating in NCC camps, and their dedication and disciplined training played a key role in helping them clear the recruitment process. NCC guide teacher Lieutenant Pritpal Singh added that considering the challenges and economic conditions of youth in the border belt, NCC was introduced in the school in 2020 under the special efforts of National Awardee Principal Dr. Satinder Singh. As a result of these initiatives, more than 15 students from the school have already been recruited into the Indian Army in recent years—an achievement of great pride for this economically weaker region.
He further informed that 53 students are currently enrolled in NCC at the school, attending roster-wise classes that prepare them for recruitment in the Army and paramilitary forces.
To honour this achievement, Assistant Commissioner Ferozepur, Gurdev Singh Dhamm (PCS), felicitated all eight selected youth. District Education Officer (Secondary), Ferozepur, Munila Arora, praised the school’s efforts and congratulated the selected candidates.
An emotional Dr. Satinder Singh congratulated the successful students—Mandeep Singh, Lovepreet Singh, Ajay Kumar, Mithan Singh, Mandeep Singh, Arshdeep Singh, Jugraj Singh, and Sher Singh—appreciating their dedication. He said this achievement will not only provide employment but also transform the lives of families struggling with financial hardships.
He added that this success will inspire other youth of the border region. Establishing the NCC unit and the regular visits of Army and BSF officers to the school have proved to be a blessing and source of motivation for the students. On this occasion, NCC guide teacher Lt. Pritpal Singh was also specially honoured for his leadership.
