Dr. Amneet Gill participates in stakeholder consultation Conference Of United Nations

New York (US), October 25, 2022: Chandigarh-based academician and author, Dr. Amneet Gill who teaches History at Panjab University, Chandigarh virtually participated in the Stakeholder Consultation for the UN 2023 Water Conference organized by the President of the General Assembly on 24 October 2022 in a hybrid format at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, United States.
Dr. Amneet was confirmed for physical participation in the conference but choose to virtually attend it. In her intervention, Dr. Amneet firstly hailed the United Nation’s International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”(2018-2028).
Emphasizing on a comprehensive and holistic approach to studying the regeneration of rivers and analyzing aquifers, Dr. Amneet stressed on carefully analyzing the palaeo channels of rivers as favorable sites for ground water recharge and management of ground water resources.
Highlighting the significance of the water balance study, Dr. Amneet stressed on research and development on geological, archaeological and hydrological sites along with the promotion of heritage river tourism.
Further, she emphasised on comprehending the hydrological ecology of Asian and African regions to substantiate the efforts of water conservation and to understand the trajectory of the social development of the indigenous tribes and communities.
Her valuable inputs were appreciated. An academic topper throughout( double Gold Medalist), Dr. Amneet Gill has authored 5 books and several research papers.
