Chandigarh, August 1, 2022: The Punjab and Haryana High Court has sought the Punjab government's response over the plea against the elevation and appointment of IAS officer Vijay Kumar Janjua as Punjab Chief Secretary.
During the hearing of the plea, the High Court sought a response from the Punjab government within 2 weeks and has asked it to submit documents related to the matter.
TS Mishra had challenged Vijay Kumar Janjua's appointment and promotion as Chief Secretary in the High Court despite pendency of corruption case against him.
In 2018, during Captain Amarinder Singh's tenure as Chief Minister, the government gave a clean chit to Janjua.
The Vigilance Bureau had refused to pursue the case against Janjua further.
