Historic Event: Bittu, Rajinder Gupta Fly to Halwara on First Delhi–Halwara Flight

New Delhi/ Ludhiana, May 14, 2026: Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu, along with Rajya Sabha MPs Rajinder Gupta and Vikramjit Singh Sahney alongwith some others travelled on the inaugural flight from New Delhi to Halwara Airport, marking the beginning of commercial air services to the long-awaited airport near Ludhiana.
Describing the occasion as a historic milestone, Bittu said the operationalisation of Halwara Airport fulfils a nearly 30-year-old demand of the region and will provide a major boost to Ludhiana’s industry, trade, exports and overall economic growth.
In a social media post, he thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for what he called a visionary gift to Punjab and said the new air connectivity would unlock fresh opportunities for business and investmets.
