Chandigarh, September 19,2019: Polling was held on Wednesday for 22 Zilla Parishads and 150 Panchayat Samitis in the state of Punjab.
A spokesman of the State Election Commission said that the process for re-election of some booths in Amritsar, Mukatsar, Moga was under consideration.
The spokesman said that Amritsar district recorded 52 percent voter turnout. Poll percentage of others districts: Bathinda 64 percent, Barnala 57 percent, Ferozepur 57 percent, Fatehgarh Sahib 64 percent, Faridkot 63 percent, Fazilka 65 percent, Gurdaspur 47 percent, Hoshiarpur 50.86 percent, Jalandhar 51.6 percent ,Kapurthala 60 Percent, Ludhiana 57 Percent, Moga 57 Percent, Sri Muktsar Sahib 58 Percent, Mansa 71.66 Percent, Patiala 59 Percent, Pathankot 57 Percent, Rupnagar 60, Sangrur 64 Percent, S.A.S. Nagar 65 Percent, S.B.S. Nagar 60.37 Percent and Taran Tarn 43.77 Percent.
Reports were received about untoward incidents from some districts. Decision will be taken for re polling after reviewing the reports. These includes one polling booth of Ajnala and 7 in Tarsikka of Amritsar District, one polling booth is in Baghapurana of Moga, 1 in Patiala, 33 polling booths of Sri Muktsar Sahib districts, added the spokesman.
