Moga: Distribution of free artificial limbs & supporting materials to disabled people starts
1592 Artificial limbs and assistive devices costing Rs 1.56 crore will be provided free of cost to 1015 differently-abled person

Moga, September 17, 2022 - On the initiative of the district administration, Alimco (Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India), a centre working under the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, has started the process to distribute free of cost artificial limbs and other aids to physically challenged persons in district Moga.
This initiative has been taken under Azadi Ka Amrit Maha-Utsav. Dr Amandeep Kaur Arora MLA Moga and Amritpal Singh Sukhanand attended the functions organized at Moga and Baghapurana respectively today.
Dr Amandeep Kaur Arora, MLA Moga Constituency, who attended the function as chief guest at Shri Satya Sai Ayurvedic College and Hospital, Dunneke, said that the Punjab government is making every possible effort for the social and economic upliftment of the people of every section of the state. He congratulated the beneficiaries who received free artificial organs and other supporting materials.
Amritpal Singh Sukhanand, MLA of Baghapurana Constituency, was happy with this initiative and announced to give his one-month salary to the District Red Cross Society. He said that he will be happy that he will also contribute fully to this noble work.
Deputy Commissioner Kulwant Singh said that these camps were organized from July 4 to July 8 at Moga, Baghapurana, Nihal Singh Wala, Dharamkot and Fatehgarh Panjtur.
In these camps, the eligible beneficiaries were assessed by the expert doctors of Alimco. To avail of these camps, the beneficiary has to have a UDID Card was mandatory.
He assured that such camps will continue in the future also so that the people who have missed the chance can also be benefited.
He said that 1015 eligible beneficiaries were identified in the assessment conducted in July. 1592 devices costing 1 crore 56 lakh 54 thousand rupees are to be distributed to all of them. Such camps will be held at Nihal Singh Wala on September 18 and Dharamkot on September 19.
During these camps, eligible persons are being provided Motorized Tricycle, Tricycle Child, Tricycle Adult, Wheel Chair Child, Wheelchair Adult, MSIED Kit, BTE, Smartphone, Elbow Clutch Large, Clutch Small, Clutch Large, Clutch Medium, Walking Stick, Rollator Adult, C P chairs, artificial limbs and clippers etc.
