Moga (Punjab), November 18, 2024: To curb stubble-burning incidents, the Moga district administration has intensified its efforts. Today, Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal and SSP Ajay Gandhi personally intervened to extinguish a fire in Lohgarh village.
The farmer, who had set the stubble ablaze, fled the scene, but authorities registered a case and made a red entry in the revenue record. The farmer will face heavy penalties.
DC Sarangal warned that zero tolerance policy will be adopted against violators, and senior officials will also face consequences if incidents occur in their areas.Earlier, Sarangal and Gandhi visited Luhara village, encouraging farmers who adopt proper stubble management and wheat sowing practices.
Among those present were Additional Deputy Commissioners Charumita and Jagwinderjit Singh Grewal, SDM Dharamkot Dr. Himanshu Gupta, and other officials.
