Punjab Ministers flag off Damri Yatra to Haridwar

Jalandhar (Punjab), April 3, 2026: Punjab Horticulture, Freedom Fighters and Defence Services Welfare Minister Mohinder Bhagat and Advisor to the Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department Deepak Bali today flagged off the Damri Yatra to Haridwar by a special train from the local City Railway Station.
The event was held under the guidance of Sant Nirmal Dass Ji Jode Wale, Sant Pragat Nath, and other spiritual leaders. Chabbewal MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar and Chairman District Planning Committee Amritpal Singh were also present.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Bhagat urged people to embrace the teachings of Shri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji, emphasizing mutual love, brotherhood, and the creation of an egalitarian society. He highlighted that Guru Ji’s teachings continue to inspire humanity to rise above caste, religious, and racial differences.
Bhagat further noted that the Punjab Government is making extensive efforts to promote Guru Ravidas Ji’s message globally and has planned large-scale celebrations for the 650th Parkash Purab of the saint.
Advisor Deepak Bali extended greetings to devotees, stating that nations progress when they remember and follow the teachings of their Gurus and saints. He added that the state government is committed to the welfare and prosperity of all sections of society by following these guiding principles.
Other dignitaries present included Sant Satwinder Heera, Behan Santosh, AAP leader Rajwinder Kaur Thiara, Dinesh Dhall, along with members of the Sant community and a large number of devotees.
