Punjab witnesses light showers; Wet spell to persist till April 6

Chandigarh, March 31, 2026: Light rainfall was recorded at a few places across Punjab on Tuesday, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting continued wet conditions in the state till April 6.
According to the IMD, weather activity is likely to persist over the coming days, bringing intermittent rain and possible relief from rising temperatures.
In the past 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature in the state was recorded at 33°C in Faridkot, while the lowest minimum temperature was 15°C in Amritsar. Temperatures across Punjab remained near normal.
The weather department has also indicated the possibility of isolated hailstorm activity in neighbouring regions of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh on April 3 and 4.
