Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal
CAPT AMARINDER MISGUIDING PEOPLE ON ISSUE OF DEBT WAIVER
THOSE JOINING CONGRESS ARE LEADERS DISCARDED BY OTHER PARTIES
CONGRESS HAS BECOME A PARTY COLLECTING "WASTE"
Samrala/Ludhiana, December 21: Deputy CM Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal today termed Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Capt Amarinder Singh and Navjot Singh Sidhu as spent forces and said that in the upcoming Assembly Elections, people would reject both the Congress party as well as these leaders. He said that after the Assembly Election results, these leaders would be seen nowhere.
Deputy CM said this while speaking to media persons after the Bhoomi Pujan of widening of Samrala Chowk (Ludhiana) to Kharar. While replying to a question related to meeting of Navjot Singh Sidhu with Rahul Gandhi, Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal said that Rahul Gandhi, Capt Amarinder Singh and Navjot Singh Sidhu are leaders who have been repeatedly rejected by the people and are spent forces, who would have no impact on the upcoming Punjab Assembly Elections.
He said that in the year 2014, the Congress party had contested the Lok Sabha elections under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi and the party had lost heavily. Similarly, people have not yet forgotten the 5 years of misrule of Capt Amarinder Singh in the state. He said that instead of starting schemes for the welfare of people, Capt Amarinder stopped such schemes started by the Shiromani Akali Dal-Bharatiya Janta Party. He said that not even a single youth was given employment during the tenure of Capt Amarinder Singh, whereas in last 10 years, the SAD-BJP has given employment to more than 2.5 lakh youth of Punjab.
He said that Capt Amarinder now claims that if he comes to power, he would waive off all debt of Punjabi farmers, while in reality he is meeting the Prime Minister for this purpose and trying to befool the public. He said that the Punjabi farmers clearly know that Capt Amarinder is merely befooling them with such statements. Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal said that when Navjot Singh Sidhu was rejected by all parties, he had no other option but to join the Congress. He said now Congress has become a party of "waste" leaders, and those who are not getting tickets from their respective parties are joining Congress. The Deputy CM said that in the upcoming Assembly Elections, people would reject all such leaders of the Congress party.
While addressing the gathering on the occasion, Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal said that the Shiromani Akali Dal has always fought for the rights of Punjab and Punjabis. He said that the promises made by the SAD-BJP combine 10 years ago have been fulfilled and the wheel of development is moving at a fast pace and to keep it moving, the combine should be voted back to power for the third consecutive time. Mr Badal said that his main aim now is to provide sewerage, water supply and solar lights to all 12,000 villages in next five years time. Similarly, other basic infrastructure, industrial development and creating job avenues would be the main agenda.
He claimed that in the upcoming Vidhan Sabha elections, the SAD would win more seats as compared to those won in the year 2012 and the combine would form the government with a thumping majority. While the AAP would get merely 6-7 seats and Congress candidates would forfeit their deposits. He said that all main roads of the state are widened to 4 lane or 6 lane and in next one and half year, all major roads of the state would be either 4 lane or 6 lane. And very soon, work on making all state highways 4 lane would start. On this occasion, he participated in the Bhoomi Pujan of project of widening of Samrala Chowk to Kharar with cost of Rs 1967 crore and Ladhowal Bypass project worth Rs 392 crore. Today, the Deputy CM also visited the house of industrialist and SAD candidate from Atam Nagar Mr Gurmit Singh Kular and interacted with industrialists.
