Chandigarh, July 19, 2025: Trouble continues to mount for senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia, as a joint operation by the Vigilance Bureau and SIT today carried out simultaneous raids at his properties in Chandigarh, Delhi, and other locations, in connection with the ongoing disproportionate assets case.
One of the key locations raided was a high-profile property in Delhi’s Sainik Farms, suspected to be part of Majithia’s alleged benami assets, valued between ₹150 to ₹200 crore, according to sources.Officials suspect this property was acquired using illegal funds and is not registered under Majithia’s name.
The operation also involved technical experts from the Vigilance Bureau who are collecting digital evidence, including documents, electronic devices, and financial data. These items are being examined to trace links to unregistered or benami assets suspected to be controlled by Majithia.
Investigative agencies suspect that shell companies linked to Majithia and his family may have been used to launder drug money. The teams are now scrutinizing company registries, bank transactions, and international financial links to track the alleged flow of illicit funds.
Vigilance sources revealed that the raids are being conducted based on witness statements and previously gathered intelligence, which indicated possible financial irregularities and hidden wealth. The agencies hope to recover critical documents and digital records during the ongoing searches.
Earlier in the day, Majithia was produced before the Special Court in Mohali under heavy security, where the Vigilance Bureau submitted case-related documents and requested additional time for interrogation. The court extended Majithia’s judicial custody until August 2, 2025.
