Rain likely in four Punjab districts today (Sept 12); More rain forecast from Sept 13-15

Chandigarh, September 12, 2026: Weather conditions have started changing across Punjab and Chandigarh, with several areas remaining cloudy since morning. The Meteorological Department has forecast rain in four Punjab districts — Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Rupnagar and Gurdaspur — on Saturday.
The average maximum temperature in Punjab fell by 0.2 degrees Celsius, but remained 2.2 degrees above normal. Bathinda recorded the highest temperature in the state at 38 degrees Celsius on Friday.
The weather department has forecast rain in several parts of Punjab from September 13 to 15, with Chandigarh also likely to receive rainfall during this period.
On Friday, Chandigarh recorded 1.2 mm of rain, while Ludhiana received 21.5 mm and Rupnagar 0.5 mm. Most other parts of the state, however, remained dry.
