Shivraj Chouhan to visit Punjab -Check date

Chandigarh, October 13, 2025: Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan will be on a one-day visit to Ludhiana, Punjab, on October 14, 2025, as part of the Central Government’s ongoing outreach to strengthen agricultural innovation, rural development, and farmer welfare in the state.
During his visit, the Union Minister will participate in a series of programmes, visit key agricultural institutions, and hold direct interactions with farmers and women’s Self-Help Groups (SHGs). He will also hand over approval letters for the reconstruction of houses to flood-affected residents in Punjab, sanctioned under Central assistance.
As per the official schedule, Shri Chouhan will begin his engagements with the inauguration of the newly constructed Administrative Building at the Indian Institute of Maize Research (IIMR), under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). On the same campus, he will interact with beneficiaries of rural development schemes and members of women SHGs to review their progress and gather feedback.
Following the inauguration, the Union Minister will address a press conference, highlighting major Central Government initiatives in agriculture and rural development, along with specific plans for Punjab.
In the afternoon, Shri Chouhan will hold a ‘Chaupal’ with farmers at Noorpur Bet village, where live demonstrations of modern farming machinery—including a combine harvester with Super Straw Management System (SSMS) and a Happy Smart Seeder for wheat sowing—
