Covid-19 cases decline in Ferozepur, but concern remains; vaccinations need to rise
Ferozepur, February 9, 2022: The Covid-19 cases have started declining and stabilizing, in the country and in Ferozepur as well with 29 positive cases reported only today and 124 active cases. However, the risk of resurgence remains, underlining the urgency of stepping up the vaccinations campaign.
During January, there are 1,250 cases with 241 even on a single day. However, during February, it has started showing a declining trend from 66 maximum to 29 today. The death tally in the district is 520 as of February 28 and there had been no death during this month.
So far, 3,57,622 samples were taken since the outbreak of coronavirus in this part of the country, out of which 3,39,743 were tested negative, 17,1710 positive, and 17,069 recovered. There had also been the recovery of 87 positive patients’ recovered today and results of 169 samples are still awaited.
Simultaneously vaccination campaign is also going on ahead of Assembly polls. As of now, 9,21,836 have been given the vaccination dose to 60 plus age group, 45 plus, HCW, FLW, lactating mother, pregnant women, and precaution dose.
Stressing that Covid-19 vaccination has reduced the impact of a third wave, the health department is making an appeal to the residents from time to time, to wear masks, avoid joining the crowded place and follow social distancing irrespective of the fact that you have got vaccinated or not so that we could win over to curb the transmission of virus further.
