Women Ideathon Punjab 2022 organised at CGC Landran

Chandigarh, June 6, 2022: ‘Women Wellness Clinic’ an innovative concept aiming to provide a one-stop-solution for addressing myriad health services for women, presented by Dr. Manisha Gupta, was conferred the first prize in the ‘Women Ideathon Punjab 2022’ organized by Department of Biotechnology, ACIC-RISE, CGC Landran, in collaboration with Startup Punjab.
The Ideathon was aimed at encouraging and enabling women entrepreneurs to develop their business set-ups.
The event sponsored by Start up Punjab was inaugurated virtually, by the Chief Guest. Sibin C, IAS, Secretary cum Director Industries and Commerce cum SSNO, Punjab, in the presence of Deepinder Dhillon, Joint Director, Start up Punjab and the top management from CGC Landran.
70-plus teams from across Punjab registered for the event with their idea submissions out of which, 20 teams were shortlisted for pitching the ideas to the judges, at this event.
The five best entries were adjudged winners on the basis of innovation, uniqueness of idea, scalability and technology content.
Addressing the audience, Sh. Sibin C underlined the efforts being made by the government to promote start-up eco system in the state through Start up Punjab, which seeks to encourage and support entrepreneurship. He also shared information about Startup incentives and seed grant being provided as a part of the Start up Punjab initiative.
The event concluded with the felicitation ceremony where the winners were conferred with cash prizes and certificates.
The winning ideas will have the opportunity for incubation and mentorship with the ACIC-RISE centre at CGC Landran. Dr. Manisha Gupta’s idea of Women Wellness Clinic won the first place with a cash prize of Rs 25,000 followed by Diya and Gursimran Kaur winning the second prize of Rs 20,000 for their business idea of developing vegetarian meat/vegan meat which is plant based meat providing a healthy alternative to conventional meat products.
Rishika Gupta and Dr. Sonica won the third prize of Rs 15,000 for their business idea of developing a biosensor for pesticide detection in water and raw milk. The fourth prize of Rs 10,000 was awarded to Dr Vipasha Sharma for her pitch on developing vegan sausages; a nutritional product prepared using button/oyster mushrooms. Dr Sukhdeep Kaur and Dr Sneh Bansal won a cash prize of Rs 5,000 for their idea.
