Inderjit Drug case: Bhagwant Mann government unsatisfied with reply, order DGP to take action against officers patronising him
Chandigarh, May 9, 2023: Unsatisfied with reply of DGP in case of Inderjit Drug, now Bhagwant Mann government has ordered DGP to take strict action against all those officer who patronised Inspector Inderjit Singh and it has also sought details of action taken in various FIRs.
In a letter written to DGP, Special Secretary Home said he should within two day provide names of officers who approved transfer of ORP Inspector Inderjit Singh to Tarn Taran on 31.05.2013 and who approved his transfer to Hoshiarpur on 12.08.2014 and how he was given double promotions.
He has also asked DGP to take strict action against senior officers who let him off in a departmental inquiry despite having serious allegations against him in FIR No.1, dated 12.06.2017 at STF Police station Mohali.
Special Secretary Home has also sought status report of action in FIR No. 80, dated 05.08.1998 registered at Goraya police station in Jalandhar and FIR No 89 dated 15.06.2006 registered at Amritsar. Letter also said that all this action is being taken with approval of Chief Minister Punjab.
