Pahunch booklet for Govt Scheme proves to be boon in delivering time-bound citizen-centric services
Application pendency in Sewa Kendras, common services centres fall down

Barnala, July 3, 2023: The booklet Pahunch, containing details of more than 44 government departments’ schemes, is proving to be a boon in delivering citizen centric services.
Giving this information, Deputy Commissioner Barnala Punamdeep Kaur stated that in the first phase, the booklet published has details of schemes of more than 44 departments and over 400 services of sewa kendras.
Vikas Garg, the operator of Common Service Center (CSC) at Farwahi Bazaar said that the booklet Pahunch is proving to be a boon for services being delivered under e-governance project of the government.
“Now people don’t have to run from pillar to post to get their works done. Earlier when someone came to us for getting a certificate issued, due to lack of information, we used to ask for even irrelevant,” he said.
He added that now CSC operators have got written proof in the form of booklet about documents required to avail services.
“Now the refusal and pendency rate of applications filed from CSC centers has declined as we are well armed with details of the schemes,” he said.
Hitesh Kumar, a resident of Barnala said that he had wanted to get changes made to his daughter’s birth certificate for which twice he had uploaded an application on government portal but the application as not processed.
Thereafter, he approached Common Service Center (CSC) where his documents were uploaded in accordance with those mentioned in Pahunch booklet. Within two days, he was able to get corrected birth certificate. He added that with the Pahunch, confusion over wants of documents for certificates has been cleared.
Deputy Commissioner Punamdeep Kaur added that the Pahunch project was started keeping in view instructions of Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer, who wants that citizen centric services should be delivered to people on easiest manner possible.
Efforts are being made to ensure that Pahunch booklet reaches the grass root level and a digital mode of book has been brought out in form of QR Code.
Once scanned, the QR Code enables downloading of book in mobile phone. This QR Code has bene installed at different public places in the district.vvvvvv
