Mission Nischay: Fazilka Police Organizes Athletic Meet, more than 650 players participate

Fazilka July 18, 2024: Under Mission Nischay, the Fazilka Police organised an Athletic Meet here today to channel the energy of youth as part of the campaign launched by the Punjab government led by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Maan against drugs in the state.
The event was inaugurated by DIG Ajay Maluja at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Stadium, Fazilka under the Mission Nischay. The youth of Fazilka participated in this sports event under the guidance of SSP Dr Pragya Jain with great enthusiasm and passion.
Addressing this occasion, Ajay Maluja said that the Punjab Police is making various efforts to give the right direction to the energy of our youth. He said that when the youth take an interest in constructive activities, they will not fall into bad habits. He said that police activities will continue in the future. He said that through Village Defence Committees (VDC), we are increasing the confidence of the villagers towards the police and getting success in this.
SSP Dr. Pragya Jain said on this occasion that the mission Nischay was launched on June 26 in Fazilka district under which strict action is being taken against the anti-social elements who deal in drugs on the one hand and also to increase the proximity of the police to the people. Senior police officials are going from village to village and holding meetings and besides organizing sports events, youth and children are engaged in constructive activities. She said that till now 376 meetings have been held by the police with the VDCs.
Deputy Commissioner Dr Senu Duggal, who arrived especially on this occasion, said that with joint efforts we can eradicate drugs from society. She praised the initiative of the police and said that this would bring awareness among the youth and they would be disciplined in sports. The art of living will be developed. She said that the district administration is also making efforts to prevent drug addiction and that children are being motivated to become good citizens from an early age through the school buddy program. She also appealed on this occasion that if someone is suffering from drug addiction, he can get free treatment from government drug addiction centres.
