Ferozepur Triple Murder Case: Police secure 7-day remand for six accused
Ferozepur, September 10, 2024: In the ongoing investigation of the Ferozepur triple murder case, police have secured a 7-day remand for six assailants arrested in a joint operation by the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) of Punjab Police, central agencies, and Maharashtra Police. The accused were apprehended in Aurangabad and produced in court for further investigation.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Gurpreet Singh alias Gopy Baba from Chohla Sahib in Tarn Taran; Prince from Kunde village in Ferozepur; Ravinder Singh alias Ravi alias Sukhu, Sukhchain Singh, Akshay alias Bagicha, and Rajbeer Singh alias Daler Singh, all residents of Basti Bagh Wali in Ferozepur. All have criminal records, including charges of murder, attempted murder, robbery, NDPS Act, and Arms Act violations. Gurpreet Singh alias Gopy Baba is also a proclaimed offender in two cases.
According to the DGP, preliminary investigations suggest that all six shooters are close associates of mastermind Ashish Chopra, who is currently a fugitive hiding abroad under a fake passport. The incident appears to result from an intergang rivalry between two groups.
The remand period will be used to conduct further investigations, establish forward and backward linkages, and strengthen the case for trial and punishment under the law.
