On PM Modi's birthday, Indian Minorities Foundation, Chishty Foundation host 4000 kg langar for thousands at Ajmer Dargah

Ajmer, September 18 2024 – In a first since Independence on a Prime Minister’s birthday, Indian Minorities Foundation and Chishty Foundation Ajmer hosted 4000 kilogram Langar on Wednesday at historic Dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer to celebrate the 74th birthday of PM Narendra Modi. On the occasion, Muslims made dua (prayer) for PM Modi’s long life and continuation of his leadership for nation's prosperity. 

  During the Ziyarat (pilgrimage) as part of the 'Sewa Pakhwada', a fortnight full of activities from 17 September to celebrate the birthday of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a IMF delegation also sought blessings at the holy shrine for PM Modi’s mission of making India a developed nation by 2047.  The delegation also offered special prayers for the peace, progress and prosperity of the country under the leadership of PM Modi.

The Langar, arranged by Haji Syed Salman Chishty, Gaddi Nashin - Dargah Ajmer Sharif and Chairman of Chishty Foundation, in collaboration with the “Indian Minorities Foundation convener and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Satnam Singh Sandhu, aimed to spread the message of “love, compassion, and service”, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji’s call for service to humanity. 

The Langar, 4000 kilogram of vegetarian food including rice, pure ghee and dry fruits, was prepared in the world-famous "Big Shahi Degh" at Dargah Sharif and served thousands of devotees and seekers who had come to pay their respects at the holy shrine. The langar was served to devotees, continuing a tradition that has been upheld for over 550 years.

On the occasion, members of the Muslim community said they have been inspired to do the community service by PM Modi’s dedication to work for poor, deprived, marginalised, Dalits, youths and farmers, and elevate their life in the past 10 years.  

The Muslim community members said as the Dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti is the biggest example of Hindu-Muslim unity in the country and they wish to give the message of unity and brotherhood to the world in line with PM Modi’s mantra of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.

Hailing the Modi government decision to declare Ajmer a heritage city and allocation of Rs 73 Crore under HRIDAY and PRASAD schemes of the Union government, they said PM Modi has done more for Indian Muslims and other minorities in the last 10 years than any other government since Independence.

They PM Modi did away with the policy of minority appeasement and instead worked towards 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.

Young members of Muslim community said initiatives such as skill development programs for Muslim students, and modernization efforts in over 40,000 madrassas have directly benefited Muslims across the country, enabling them to participate more fully in India's growth story.

Women members of Muslim community said PM Modi's outreach to the Muslim community goes beyond mere rhetoric, as evidenced by concrete actions such as removal of restriction of a Mehram (male guardian) on Hajj and the enactment of legislation against instant Triple Talaq, which has provided them with greater legal protection and empowerment.

Young members of Muslim community said out of the total loans disbursed under PM Mudra Yojana, 19% loans were given to youth from Muslim community.

They said out of the total 5.20 crore scholarships sanctioned for minority communities between 2015-2022, Muslim youth received over 3.86 crore scholarships, which is the highest number of educational scholarships given to the community so far.

Extending wishes to PM Narendra Modi for his birthday, Salman Chisty, Gaddi Nasheen, Khadim Khwaja Sahab and Chairman Chisty Foundation, said, “Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has successfully led India at the global level and played the role of an active global leader today.

The Ajmer Sharif Dargah is one of the oldest Dargahs where the langar sewa has been continuing for past over 800 years. We pray for the successful continuation of PM Modi’s premiership of the nation in future as well.

This holy place celebrates the unity in diversity as India has been doing under the leadership of Modi government. It is the uniqueness of our country that from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, we celebrate unity in diversity. People from all religions come here to pray together, sending the message of communal harmony and unity; it the spiritual strength that people coming here carry with themselves in the form of peace and universal brotherhood; this place is symbolic of love towards all and malice towards none,”.

PM Modi understands the religious and spiritual importance of Ajmer: Sahibzada Sheikh Afjan Chishti 

Sahibzada Sheikh Afjan Chishti said, “Sahibzada Sheikh Afjan Chishti said that Ajmer Sharif Dargah is the biggest bargah in India. From here, we first congratulate PM Modi on his birthday and pray for his long life and good health. During PM Modi's tenure, India has emerged as a major force in the world. In the last ten years, India has written a new chapter of development under PM Modi’s leadership. For example, when Chandrayaan reached the moon, the whole country felt proud.

During this time, the area around the Dargah has developed a lot and the doors of the Dargah have been constructed. Special attention has also been paid to the beautification of the water ponds here in Ajmer.

Also, there is Kishangarh Airport inside Ajmer Sharif, the foundation stone of which was laid before 2014, but after Modi ji came to power, its construction has been completed at a fast pace. We are also thankful that when PM Modi started the Smart City project, Ajmer city was named in the first category. If PM Modi understands the religious and spiritual importance of Ajmer Sharif, then we will look into it.

Under Modi government, Muslims empowered like never before: Syed Sadiq Ali Chisty, Khadim, Ajmer Sharif Dargah

Syed Sadiq Ali Chisty, Khadim, Ajmer Sharif Dargah, said, “Today, to mark the birthday celebrations of PM Modi, a langar sewa was organized at Dargah Ajmer Sharif and prayer was offered for long and healthy life of Modi ji. In the last 10 years, PM Modi has ensured equal empowerment of all communities and Muslim community has also benefitted from the welfare schemes of Modi government equally. Under Modi government, Muslims empowered like never before.

Today, Muslim women can travel to Hajj without Mahram and women have received scholarships worth crores under the Anganwadi scheme. Moreover, two Vande Bharat trains were run by the government for Ajmer and an airport was built in Ajmer. Ajmer Dargah will be made a heritage site with a grant of Rs 40 crores under the HRIDAY Yojana and work will be done for its renovation and beautification. Sewa Pakhwada by IMF and Dargah committee sends out a message of universal brotherhood, unity and communal harmony.

India saw unprecedented development in the last 10 years under Modi government: Syed Mehraj Miya Chishty, Khadim, Ajmer Sharif Dargah

Syed Mehraj Miya Chishty, Khadim, Ajmer Sharif Dargah said, “In the last ten years since the Modi government has come into power, not only whole India but Ajmer has also developed a lot. An airport has been built owing to which the business of taxis and other sectors have also increased manifold. Under the Modi government several initiatives have been taken for the beautification and renovation of Dargah Sharif with a budget of Rs 40 Crores. We will pray inside Khawaja Sahib's Dargah that our PM Modi also visit this place and take darshan at Dargah Ajmer Sharif and express his wish in his darbaar.

PM Modi ensured equal empowerment of people from all communities including women: said Shagufta Khan, a female devotee from Bareilly, UP

Shagufta Khan, another devotee from Bareilly, UP said, “The people from all religions have been living together in communal harmony under Modi government. The bond and brotherhood shared between Hindus and Muslims today hasn’t been seen in the past. PM Modi has taken steps to empower every community and every section of society equally. Modi government has done a lot for the empowerment of women. In the last 10 years under Modi government, a lot of developmental works have been done; PM Modi has introduced several schemes for the empowerment of students and youth of the nation. Several hospitals were built and many educational institutions were introduced in the last 10 years under Modi government. We pray that Modi government continue to serve people from all communities and keeping moving forward in future as well.

PM Modi took unparalleled initiatives for women safety in last 10 years: Laiba Chishtiya, a Muslim devotee

Laiba Chishtiya, another Muslim devotee said, “I have been coming here from my childhood and in the last few years, under the Modi government a lot of development has taken place in Ajmer and many schemes of the government has been benefitting Muslim community now. From train service to women safety, Modi government has taken unparallel initiatives for the empowerment of all sections of the society in the last 10 years.

The Modi government has done excellent work in the field of education by providing scholarships and generated plethora of employment opportunities for youth. I like to thank PM Modi for putting the Nation First from rest everything else.”

We pray Gareeb Nawaz gives a lot of progress to PM Modi, says Muslim Youth 

Praying for PM Modi’s long life and well-being, a young Muslim devotee, Laraib Chisty, said, "We pray to Allah Tallah at the shrine of Gareeb Nawaz that peace and love should always prevail in our Hindu-Muslim brotherhood and give the gift of happiness in brotherhood. We pray to Gareeb Nawaz to give good health to our PM Narendra Modi and keep him safe always. We pray that Gareeb Nawaz gives a lot of progress to PM Modi and the country under his leadership,”.

Culture of communal harmony and unity have been nurtured in the last 10 years under Modi government: Abdul Ahem, a Muslim devotee from Assam

Abdul Ahem, a Muslim devotee from Assam said, “Things have transformed completely in the last 10 years under Modi government. All Hindu, Muslims and people from all religions have come together like never before; there is unity, communal harmony, peace and love among all communities. Today, people from all religions converge here at the Ajmer Sharif Dargah to offer prayer. Now, things have changed a lot; this culture of communal harmony and unity have been nurtured in the last 10 years under Modi government.Ends
