Gurdaspur: District and Sessions Judge and CJM visit Red Cross De-addiction center

Gurdaspur (Punjab), October 1, 2024: Rajinder Agarwal, District and Sessions Judge Gurdaspur along with CJM-cum-DLSA Ramneet Kaur and CJM RPS Cheema visited the Red Cross De-addiction Center Gurdaspur, reviewed the functioning of the center and blessed the youth undergoing treatment here.He interacted with the patients undergoing treatment and listened to their sufferings.
Romesh Mahajan National Awardee Project Director RC-IRCA welcomed them and told them about the working of this centre. Agarwal, District and Sessions Judge inspired the youth to get rid of this drug.
He also gave wonderful comments in the visitor's book : “Addiction is harmful not only to the victim but also to his family, society and country. Mr. Romesh Mahajan and his team are doing a great service by motivating drug addicts to engage in constructive activities. They are working diligently and providing comfort and sympathy to the victims. A truly great service to the community."
From this center, he also started the awareness program 'Nasha Mukti - Harm to Humanity' campaign under the guidelines of the Hon'ble Punjab and Haryana High Court.
Inaugurating this campaign District and Sessions Judge encouraged the youth to be a part of this campaign and to spread awareness first in their homes and then in their mohallas/colonies to become ambassadors of the Judiciary.
He also informed that under this campaign various seminars will be conducted in the drug affected areas by the judiciary with the support of the district administration/NGOs.
He appreciated the work being done by Red Cross DDC Gurdaspur for the successful treatment of patients. Patients were inspired by their visits and pledged to join the mainstream.
