"People are giving their blessings": Haryana Lokhit Party's Gopal Kanda exudes winning assembly polls
Sirsa (Haryana), October 5, 2024 (ANI): Haryana Lokhit Party candidate from Sirsa Assembly seat Gopal Kanda on Saturday expressed confidence in winning the Haryana election from his assembly segment, saying that the people are 'giving their blessings'.
Speaking to ANI after casting his vote for the Haryana assembly elections, Gopal Kanda said, "The mood of the people is one-sided here, they are giving their blessings. There is no contest here."
Gopal Kanda further stated that the BJP government is going to come into power for the third time in Haryana.
"...There is a one-sided atmosphere in Sirsa. Sirsa is a religious city and every person is connected to some religious institution... There is no farmers' issue. The Congress party has insulted the farmers a lot by giving them cheques of 2 rupees. I have seen everything very closely, no one has respected the farmers as much as Modi ji has done in this country...Our target is Congress-free Haryana and 100% government will be formed (for the third time) and we will form the government from Sirsa...I have done a lot of work, so seeing that people are voting for me," Gopal Kanda said.
Meanwhile, former Haryana Chief Minister and Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda said, "Congress is coming to power in Haryana with a huge majority. The high command will decide who will become the Chief Minister. Our government will work on unemployment, law and order, development of the state.
He also urged the people to exercise their right to vote and cast their votes peacefully. "I appeal to people to come out of their houses and cast their votes peacefully. According to the reports, people are voting in good numbers. Congress is going to form its government here," he said.
Voting began for 90 assembly seats in Haryana on Saturday and saw a voter turnout of 22.70 per cent percent till 11 AM.
As per the data shared by the ECI, Palwal recorded the highest poll percentage of 27.94 percent, followed by Jind at 27.20 per cent, Mewat 25. 65 per cent, Yamunanagar 25.56 percent, and Ambala 25.50per cent, till 9 AM.
In Rohatak, the poll percentage was recorded 12.71 per cent, 23.45 per cent in Bhiwani, 20.10 percent in Charkhi Dadri, 20.39 in Faridabad, and 24.69 in Hisar till 11 AM.
"More than 25% voter turnout has been recorded, with some districts like Yamunanagar, Kaithal, and Bhiwani showing more than 20%. This is a very encouraging trend, and I am confident that we will achieve a good overall voter turnout. Based on past elections, I believe we will surpass our previous voting percentage. Our efforts to engage voters through various awareness programs have made a difference, especially with the inclusion of new young voters," Nodal officer of Haryana election commission Manish Kumar Lohan said.
